## Significant Issues with Management, C-Level and Sales TeamsEngineer (Former Employee) - Boston - February 15, 2023DataRobot is a company that provides machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions. As a former employee who worked in research and development, I can say that the company provided me with a fulfilling and meaningful work experience. The people I worked with were generally nice and professional, and the work I was doing was interesting and impactful. However, my experience was marred by the incompetence of the CEO and his top executives. None of them have technical degrees or engineering experience, and all of them have sales backgrounds. This lack of technical expertise made it difficult for them to understand the software we were selling, which is essential for running a successful AI company. Moreover, the managers I worked with were inexperienced and unable to provide support when there were problems. This lack of support was particularly evident during a period when the company had to lay off a third of its staff due to the executives' incompetence. In summary, DataRobot is a company with a lot of potential, but it is held back by the incompetence of its CEO and top executives. The work is fulfilling, and the people are generally nice, but the lack of technical expertise at the top level is a significant hindrance to the company's success.
*If the executives were to prioritize technical expertise and invest in experienced management, DataRobot would undoubtedly be a more successful company.*Was this review helpful?

What is the work environment and culture like at the company? My area was generally laid back.
